O’Rourke commits to ACHA’s Drury University

Ethan O’Rourke of the North Okanagan Knights has committed to the Drury University Panthers in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

O’Rourke had 24 points in 31 games for the Knights and added three points in seven Teck Cup playoff games. With the Osoyoos Coyotes and Knights, O’Rourke registered 32 goals and 66 points in 70 career KIJHL games.

The Penticton product loved his lone season with the Knights and credited the coaching staff led by Head Coach-GM Liam McOnie for their “effort to get the best out of me.”

“Ethan was a very big part of our organization, being the first of a few high-end acquisitions that helped put our team back on the map in the KIJHL,” said McOnie, adding he is excited for O’Rourke’s next chapter. “Ethan brought a great work ethic and a calm, but confident presence and offensive boost. Drury is getting a great player and an awesome teammate.”

“I am very excited to begin the next chapter of my hockey career at Drury this fall,” said O’Rourke, who thanked the Coyotes organization for his first two seasons in the league.
